Operating principle

The pump operates with two intermeshing gears that draw in hydraulic oil and move it through the system. As the teeth separate at the inlet side, a vacuum forms, pulling oil into the pump. The rotating gears transport the oil along the housing wall to the outlet side. Precision internal clearances prevent backflow and help maintain system pressure. Since the displacement is fixed, each rotation moves the same volume of oil.
